In the last week my check engine light comes on and goes off. It seems that it comes on if I let up on the gas pedal. It seems to come on more regular now. I try to self ûdiagnosis by using a voltmeter but couldnÆt figure it out. So I took it to my local mechanic and he came up with code #12 Mass air flow sensor problem and code # 21 coolant temp signal out of range He said that #21 was not a problem but #12 could be a big cost.
Has anyone gone thru this? Any advice to what I should do?

Easiest and cheapest is gonna be the #21 code. The computer relies on accurate engine temperature to regulate how much fuel goes in. I'd fix that one first. I know the Mass air sensors on the v6's aren't cheap so maybe a junk yard unit would be best to try to fix that one. You'll probably see a pretty big fuel mileage jump just fixing the temp sensor problem though.

Thanks for the info. It seems that I got lucky this time. The breather hose that connects to bottom of the air intake hose. Had come off, which caused it run a bit out of idle and may have affected the mass air flow sensor. But anyway I took your advice and replace the heat sensor , and my mechanic happen to have had a used sensor laying around so I bought it from him got home to do the work and thatÆs when I discovered the loose connection . Spare parts are a good thing for the raider and y wallet. Thanks again
