Tried in 3 different cars with varying amounts and varying gallons in the tank. Result, BS..

I've run acetone at first and got around 20mpg or higher on my road runs. Tried it at 2oz per 10gallons and then went to 3oz per gallon. Seemed to work the best on my road runs. Best mileage I ever got was about 26mpg. I average just over 20mpg now.

Thinking about making some aero mods to the bottom of the truck. Not sure if anyone here would be interested in it or not. I'll have to take some piccies of the bottom first and then divide up the sections I'm gonna work on. Been doing a lot of research from coroplast to fiberglass to painted metal screens. I'd want to make something that I could take off easily but still hold firm. I know some of the aero mods would work fer you 4x4 T-100s without compromising yer off-road capabilities.

Not sure if anyone here would be interested in gaining a couple of miles per gallon on simple inexpensive mods...

There are lots of parts lower than the frame rail on the truck. Because of that I wonder how much you can really improve it.

I think an aero bottom is something that has to be considered from the early design of the vehicle.

My 5 series is flat on the bottom and I got it without the belly panels. I put them on and noticed a slight mpg increase on the highway. I think the mpg increase is more from air movement. The engine compartment of that car is sealed elaborately and when the panels are installed, air movement under the car creates a slight vacuum in there, drawing air in through the radiator.

I think your onto something eleet.

My 93 V6 camry XLE had those belly pads, the entire underside of the car from about the enginebay to the nose was clad in plastic.

Body Damage is Cool
Im going to put 33s on mine once my 35s are worn out, spring under in the rear and a few inches lower in the front, more of the stadium truck ride height, i got 17mpg with 33s a few years ago with more lift...along with some belly pan skid plates some day hopefully it will be tolerable...

Aerodynamics give a big gain on the highway.

Over on the turbobricks board (Volvo fanatics) some members were playing with various belly pans. As I recall, several got a 1-3 mpg gain by just taking care of the rear section of the car behind the axle.

That could easily be done with our trucks...

Another way to get your mileage up is to put on a bed cover. Gained 2 mpg with a homemade rig on my old truck. The amount of turbulence between the back window and the tailgate is brutal. Don't know about anyone else having this happen, but if you have a slider window open with an empty beer can in the bed, the can hits the rear view mirror on its way through. That sux at 70. Keeps you awake though.

Studies have shown that to be false. Glad you got better mileage, but it's not a guarantee.
