In my 97, I am getting around 15-16mpg with mixed driving. I need to clean my MAF, and replace the air filter. At which point I hope I am 16+ on mpg with the mixed driving.

I don't know what you are getting on the Trooper, but I don't see getting over 20mpg mixed with any SUV that can tow over 2500lbs. So the question boils down to, would having to pay for a truck to tow with have the mpg benefit to offset the cost of the truck itself?
