Low as in being in 4L as opposed to 2H or 4H. I found information in this web site that says the backlash eliminators "help prevent low speed gear chatter which is more commonly experienced in vehicles fitted with automatic transmissions."

I was hoping to find out if anyone has experienced ths low speed gear chatter. I know you have an M/T, but I was curious anyway. Doesn't sound like you've experienced it when you've been in 4L.

Looks like I'll be running without the B/L eliminator because the snap ring that holds the spring against the BLE is "a vintage part that MAY be available after a wait of 6-12 months." This from Poway Mitsubishi parts department. No thanks!

I also found another source for the 2.85 gears. 1298 Euros. With the exchange rate the way it is, that makes the Aussie gears look like a hellava bargin! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
