Buttoned up the install of the gears into the spare case this weekend. As advertised, there's really not that much to it--just a couple of gotcha's that'll creep up on you if you're not careful.

While I was at it, I removed the rubber breather on the control lever housing and replaced it with a brass fitting. Needed I think--I noticed evidence of water entry into the t-case sometime in its history. A 1/4" hose barb to 1/8" MIP from Home Depot screwed right in. Although the aluminum cover hole was unthreaded, that size fitting is perfect for self-threading into the 10mm hole. Sealed it with some grey RTV.

I already have enough hose and an extra hose clamp left over from installing my extended diff breathers. Just need to get a miniature fuel filter to terminate the inverted end at the top of the engine compartment.

I'll install the spare case into the truck over the holiday weekend. I feel like a kid with Christmas coming next week! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />
