With that style of disconnect you would disconnect one side and then hook it to the mount that connects to the frame. If you leave the other side hooked up it could cause some damage. They are quicker disconnects so just unhook both sides, it takes 30 seconds if that. If you leave them to hang they can get caught on everything...your jeep, axles, bushes...whatever, and then you have broken quicker disconnects that will do you no good.
