Is the sway bar worth keeping? I have the bushings and the bolts to remount it but it will take me a while to drill and retap the holes where the old bolts broke off. I know it reduces articulation but I don't run in to to many problems on the road and the occassional mud puddle.
Any feedback would be worthwhile.

It's dodging deer and little kids that gets you in trouble. Consider a swayaway setup. Couple reviews here.

If you don't have any issues on the road, may as well ditch it. Read the page below for a little decision process discussion and see what works best for you:

I've been w/o a front sway bar for about 10 years now, since I had crossover steering installed. Leans a little more in turns, but you get used to that after a while. I found my truck actually handled better w/o the sway bar, but YMMV.

Really depends on driving style, width of tires, and torsion bar settings. A buddy of mine ran a set of BFG 365's(equivalent to a 31x12.50), on 15's with 1" lift set in for the T-bars, and it cornered well enough w/o the sway bar.

If you corner hard like I do in my '90 than you would want to keep the sway bar, I actually increased mine by adding poly bushings, basically doubling the size of the bar.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

i've run mine without a sway bar for a little over a year now, and i havent seen any problems so far. i do wheel alot while im at school, but i also have to drive the truck 500 miles every month or so. like they have said above, it all depends on your driving style and what you do with the truck.

Is there a rear sway bar? I've never noticed one.

I've been w/o it for about 3 years also. Not my DD, but used mostly on-road. Hardly noticed a difference when I took it off.
I'd think it'd be less of an issue if you have the t-bars really cranksed already too

Ditched the sway bar on both my trucks, never looked back.
However...the dd has rancho 5000s all around which ride like a sack of frozen dog ***** while my 87 clunker has monroes and it does lean a bit.

I've been thinking about ditching mine. Just noticed a few days ago the sleeve that slides over the threaded rod on the passenger side is about 4 inches too short so it's not pressing agains the bushing, never noticed it b4. Also was wondering about the, I think it's called Track Bar, attached to the drivers side of the front axle. Was a PITA to get the new 3" lift springs on with that thing, and it's seriously got to limit travel, do people remove that? Or is it essential to have so the axle stays centered? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
