Well, if you have your 1A license and not much over your grade 3, there's millions of jobs in the trucking industry. Things sure have changed in the 21 years I've been at it. Finally, you dont have to be gone all the time, and theres decent money in it. I retired a couple yrs ago, but a friend of mine talked me into helping out hauling JD parts from Regina to Calgary. I try to keep it down to 1 a week, pays $500 a rounder. Leave Regina at 5:30 pm, home the next day at noon, with a couple hrs off in between. The guys that are running fulltime (mon-fri) are dragging in $6500-$8000/mth with weekends off and home all the time.
