That is the nature of a progressive coil spring, the closely spaced coils are the soft ones and the wider spaced ones are stiffer. So the soft ones have compressed. Suppose as long as the rider quality is OK, then they are working like they are designed to. Maybe contact PP and ask them if that is normal for that application.
