Hello all. I recently put some posts on concerning my 91 Trooper, and got some very good answers. Well, now I have just bought an 87 Trooper, the LS model. The person I bought it from said the motor was completely rebuilt around 35k ago, and gave me all the paperwork. It has some quirks, but is in overall very good condition. and runs good. He was the second owner. One, the speedo don't work, which is no biggy, and an easy fix. Two, the turn signals act up. By act up, I mean you can either turn on the left or right signal, and they will work for a bit and then quit. I've narrowed the problem down to either the switch itself, or the flasher. Is there any way to get into the switch to maybe adjust the contacts with out having to remove the steering wheel, etc, etc? Three, there is an exhaust leak right at where the manifold bolts to the exhaust. He said it was tightened up, but works loose again. Suggestions on how to take care of this? Finally, this model has the plastic/rubber lower body panels. One is starting to come loose because the 20 year old adhesive is worn out. What would be the best adhesive for re-gluing this panel?
Thanks,
Jim

Update and some more questions.
Ok, I cured the exhaust problem for about $8.00(new gasket at NAPA)compared to the $130 the auto shop wanted. Now here is my other problem. I went to set the parking brake, and I succeeded in breaking off the pin, and when that broke, the parking brake lever came right out of the bracket/holder. At this point, I have no parking brake. Has anyone had the pin break off before, and what did you use as a replacement pin? According the the folks at Scarff Motors, the local Isuzu dealer, the pin has been discontinued by Isuzu. Also, the speedometer cable assembly is backordered until around sometime in May. Does anyone know of any other Isuzu dealers that might have one?
Thanks,
Jim
