Not sure if you're looking for brand or weight, but .40 typically comes in 180 or 165 for the heavier loads. If you go lighter, you start getting into .357 mag ballastics. It should be able to feed and fire any of that stuff.

I can't imagine it wouldn't feed just typical plinking target ammo, which is usually in the heavier 180/165 range.

I've heard that shorter barrel 1911 styles do have some feeding problems, but that's usually with .45. Not sure how. 40 would affect things.

As far as hollowpoints, personally run Corbon in all my personal guns. Nt that its necessarily any better. I just know that it works and its usually easy to find around here and its usually at least a little bit hotter than the other stuff. For my .40s I try to find 180, since I want the heaviest loads for woods carry, but typically end up with 165, which I think is a decent compromise.
