Ok, talked to mechanic this morning. He opened up xfer case, all he found out was there is a plastic bushing missing off one of the forks (Dana 300). When he pulled the xfer case, he noticed the bottom plate had been welded. I did this back before the problem started, as it rusted in 2 and bound up when the thing broke loose. I simply towed it back in, and put a bottle jack under it, welded a new piece of metal back in and thought I had it fixed. He claims I may have fouled the linkage up in the process, possibly? I wouldn't think so, but stanger things have happened. He's got a used plate he is going to let me use, so that will take care of that issue, and he's going to replace the bushing and check the linkage. I'd hate to know I waited all this time for my Jeep and it was something I did years ago!!! Oh well...
