Why would you take the turbo out to install a pyro? Or are you doing something else to it? Best pyro probe is from a heavy truck shop (Peterbilt, Kenworth, etc) All large diesels have them pre-turbo and run for a million miles without breaking. Just drill and tap a hole pre-turbo, the probe is adjustable as to how far it sticks in the hole. Pretty much any guage will work with any probe.
If you are worried about the few shavings that are going to be left in the manifold, then make sure you pull the head off every 2000 miles and clean out any carbon deposits as chunks of that routinely come off and go thru the turbo at full spool. The turbo is barely starting to spin by the time the shavings are blown out by the exhaust.
As soon as my guage gets here from Dakota Digital, thats the route I'm going. This will be #12 pyro I've installed in my trucks this way.
