Ahh yes, I've finally returned home from my 2 trips to moab in less than a week. BUT i got Suzi home, and things are wonderful.

Lets talk dual t-cases-

1) Got it done and in, but couldn't figure out how to hook up the sotf. Still have to work on that. I was able to shift it by crawling under and doing it manually.

2) It crawls great! It was incredible, and a HUGE upgrade. I put it through some really difficult trails, pickle and rusty nail.

3) I broke it. The rear output shaft broke on a ledge climb. Granted i was pushing it, and I didn't make it. While still trying to go forward i fell back off the ledge and that is when it snapped. It didn't break the front output though. fwd sucks for four wheeling. HA HA HA... But it was strong enough to push the front wheels through the rest of the trail (being pulled by aaron of course) but i spun the front on a lot of things with no problems.

4) The angles of the drivelines are a vast improvement over the old configuration. Well the front one anyway. The back is still pretty good too.

So overall i like it. I'm going to be replacing the case soon and trying things again. I kinda figure if i go through a couple more cases this summer then I'll try to figure something stronger out.

Any questions?!?

Did you learn a lesson about karma coming back and biting you in the butt for not treating your fellow four wheelers nicely on the trail?

(Trav drenched Dan and me on Friday during a trail run. Evidently, a slow moving samurai, a wide trail through water, and a rodeo on big tires was too much for Trav and he somehow managed to cover us, and the sami, with about 100 gallons of water... He couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes. )

I thought you got a fully shifted case for the 2nd case. I would think a SOTF one would connect the same as the original one was.

Here is what I have for pin outs on the 4wd control computer (located under the center console) if it helps..

12. power from ignition
5. on/off input (dash switch)
13. dash indicator light
6. front axle engaged input (front axle switch)
8. front axle VSV control output
10. ground
4. 4wd engaged output (to abs system)
7. transfer complete input (from t-case switch)
1. 4wd motor control (to motor in t-case actuator)
2. 4wd motor control (to motor in t-case actuator)
15. hi/4lo input (from t-case actuator)
16. hi/4lo input (from t-case actuator)

I can look up other stuff if you need it. This info is from all data which has very poor copies so cut and pasted images are hard to read.

dropping a 5500 pound rig on your abdomin is one way of meeting really brainy chicks.

However it's severly overated as a continual means to do so.

I'm out of hosptial care and am now home.

I still got a few really big hurdles to get over in the next month

Rehab is excrutiatingly painful!!!!!!!!!

I hate pain killers

Thanks for the strong backs we had along the trip to get the Rig off of me.............................That still blows me away.

Thanks for 1.5 dozen or so folks who took the time out of their vacation to stop in and say hello and the other 2 dozen easily that called, while I was being tormented in Grand Junction hospital.

Alway help a fellow wheeler out

No your safety steps and don't take for granted that they are in place. Sometimes we get complacent with routine things.

I hope that this accident hasn't miscouraged anyone from participating in our sport but only serves as an example of what not to do....................I planned it that way

The first aid given while WAITING for the "first aid" folks was stop notch and I absolutely certain I would of not been able to type this correspondence.

WOW, the flowers were enormous! you should of seen the elderly lady trying to push the cart.

Glad to hear you are back home and recovering. Was scary enough hearing about it when we got back to camp, cant imagine what you went through.

Here's to a speedy recovery
