The taps are for power of a couple of devices. Actually, everything is tucked under the metal protector that goes over the cpu and wiring harness, but it can/does get damp. I soldered the splice into the VSS and heat shrank them.

John, The switch is for a second setting. Let's say you run stock or snow tires. You can set the 2nd setting to match them (or be stock)
I don't know if I'd ever use it but a nice feature if you use different tires for wheeling and street.
Anyway-if anyone wants to know any more about it, just ask.
For $40-50 bucks + 2 cocktails....very well worth it to me.
