Any advice on bedding in new OEM pads and resurfaced rotors? Some pad manufacturers recommend gentle driving the first 400-500 miles, but some recommend a series of aggressive decelerations. For example, accelerate to 60MPH, hit the brakes hard (but not enough to lock them up) to 10MPH, repeat 5 more times, then let cool down. What do you think would be the best for OEM pads? Didn't see recommendations in the FSM. I don't even know what material the OEM pads are made of.

I run them in with some short, hard stops. I haven't had any issues, except spitting a brake shoe lining last year.

Yep, the internet is great, but sometimes you get conflicting information. I saw that link before posting originally, and it's what got me wondering. Except for the pads that recommend 400-500 miles of gentle braking, every other pad recommendation is dramatically different.

Those alternate methods seem to be mostly on the high performance type of pad, so the conservative approach is probably best for standard pads.

When I googled +mitsubishi +brake +pad +bedding I got this interesting article on BBQing brake pads for longer life.

I've actually never thought about brake pad break-in or done it. Except of course unknowingly doing the gentle braking in method because I'm always easy on the brakes. I agree with internet conflicting opinions. The internet gave us access to more info but also more confusion. Used to be I'd weigh the opinions of 3-4 people I actually knew, now I have to consider the opinion of a 1000 strangers.
