The Aisin Warner A44Dx line of trannies usually has interchangeable bellhousings. Try buying bellhousing gaskets for each and compare. I'd go for one of the A44DL slushboxes to get the lockup converter. It saves about 300rpms at 3000rpm cruise, in theory at least, thats about 10% fuel savings. I also bet you can find in Aus. or Japan a heavier duty diesel converter with lockup.

This would mean all you need is the bellhousing for the motor to bolt on either your tranny or the lockup box you source. If the internal splines are right in the 1.9 converter, that would also work and be sure to fit the flexplate and bellhousing.

Pretty nifty idea. I'm off the read the other thread.

What are the hp and torque #'s for the 1.9? I think the 3.0 is about 150hp and 175ftlbs of torque, but torque is a guess.

The biodiesel machines I've seen use veggie oil and lye (IIRC) and yield biodiesel and glycerin and solid filtrate. Simple filters don't yank out the glycerin, just the solid crud. That's why the machines are expensive. They are mini chem factories.
