Did that but (of course) no noise. That is until I headed home and it started up again. Live in very small town with almost no mech sources, at least one that knows anything about a jeep.

Found a guy yesterday and he is willing to look at it, but don't have a good feeling about his knowledge.

Drove the darn thing yesterday about 45 miles up to the "big" city for doctors appointment and it screeched/scraped like hell from the time I pulled out until I got there. Only can hear it from 0-20 mph then noise and speed make it impossible to hear it. Drove back without any noise whatsover to the garage where we as usual heard nothing. Got down the road about 10 miles and started again. Seems to be in the driveshaft rear. Really difficult to tell when you are driving. Can hear it when coasting in and getting close to running over wife as she tries to stand outside and pinpoint sound smile

I'm gonna 4 wheel jack it this weekend and see if will make the noise so that at least I know where it comes from. Believe, however, it is not in the drive back to the sye, but into the tran or inside the tran. Just hate to tear the darn thing up. Big city has crysler/jeep mechs but Chrysler will not honor warranty because it is an extended warranty without the Chrysler name on it. Have to go to and find a garage accepting the warranty. Never buy an extnded one again. Buying Honda next time.

Thanks for reply.
