Engine is not getting any feedback from the O2 sensor and is therefore running in "limp home" mode. This will cause the symptoms you describe.

Apart from cleaning the contacts on the sensor, your best bet may be to change the sensors over (if your engine has two) and see if the code changes. If the code changes then it is the sensor at fault, if it doesn't then it is the wiring.

Bosch apparently make the sensors so they may be the best ppl to contact about replacements.
