For what it's worth.... the local MMC dealer here (OZ) says the 4AM40 is more reliable - one reason being a timing chain rather than a belt.

i would agree...these timing belt days should have been long over especially with these SUVs that are put to such stressed driving conditions and are expected to be reliable. one minor belt can wreck havoc in the motor..
