Want to be able to monitor this beast. Summit doesn't have 'em...

If I had to rig my own, where's the best place for the sending unit?

Thanks

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I picked one up from NAPA for my boss's truck. I just installed the sender into one of the pressure test ports that was plugged with a 1/4 plug. You can drill a hole in the pan for the sender, but you just might cause a leak if it is not sealed good. I installed the kit on a Chevy with a turbo 350, but I'm sure there would be a pressure test port on a Toyota auto that you could tap into.

Not familiar with this auto tranny. Where would the test port be?

Use a automotive water temp gauge. Get fittings from a hardware store or an auto supply store. Make a "T" in the a/t line that sends hot atf to the radiator and plumb the sender into the hot a/t line.

there are 2 lines coming from tranny to the front where a small radiator resides.

the 2 lines just attach with hose clamp.

you can insert a small probe in there with not much hassles. remember, one is hot, with the fluid coming FROM the tranny and the other tube is a cooled out side...

Here is a place that has them;

The best spot is the out line from the tranny to the the cooler. That is where it is the hottest.
