I took a 2.3l diesel from an '86 Ranger and put in my 89 D50. Both 5 spds, the wrecker I got it from, told me another fellow swapped a "85 2.3 diesel into a '86 2.3 gasser Ranger. All kept orig. trannys. Long way around it, but if you add it all up, it should fit. But, I've been wrong before...LOTS! A day late, A dollar short, and A half a mile behind... pass me that crescent hammer...
