Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey guys - got all the starting and running bugs worked out.

I have changed -
-plugs
-wires
-cap + rotor
-coil

AAP is working - no leaks or holes in the diaphram. Starts good, runs good. Only getting 14mpg. Any ideas?!

Edit: Forgot to mention its a 2wd reg cab short box - 250 000 clicks, stock size tires.

Have you checked all the other diaphragms for leaks?

Run a compression check recently?

I'd check the converter, and O2 sensor with that many miles.

You could also check your air flow meter, TPS and see if your throttle plate needs cleaning. I just had a problem with my AFM and replaced the O2 sensor. My mileage is back up to around 22+ daily driving.

Auto or 5 speed? If your clutch packs/bands slip or the lockup doesn't function in an auto, your mileage goes south.

Ouch... I was going to say that was about right until I saw you have a 2wd truck.

Even with a 22R I think you should be around 25 or so. Do you still have stock tires on it or did you upsize?

Are you having to drive it with your foot to the floor to get any performance? If so maybe your timing is off, or like me the vac lines going to the dist. cap were backwards and my timing was retarding instead of advancing. I switched them and all is right with the world. Give it a shot. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
