Its just an overlay with a bunch of spot welds. Same hood, Same truck.

Well getting the post back on track! We picked up a fuel tank to replace the crushed fuel tank, along with a set of aisins, and a bouncy seat frame yesterday. Tomorrow I'm off to the books for wiring charts and thursday i'll start up the wiring.

So do you have that truck set up with lockers?or did you just have a 2.4 that needed a home? Are there more aftermarket parts for that motor than the 2.6? I know you guys have clean rust free bodys down there. What gives? You just want to beat on that truck untill it can't take any more?

That truck is locked front and rear and its got history man its wheeled all over az and ben to the sierra's and back, can let it die. 2.4 is little more update than the 2.6 you can uses DOHC head and turbo off 2.0 if you want were just leaving it stock and it was the first 4cyl montero in the world to have the 2.85 aussie gears.

When you say locked, do you mean welded, or is this one of those spools that you and Lloyd talked about back in the day?

I need some wrenching guys like you in my area.

just a little correction, it's actually welded only in the front, its got a LSD in the rear. But even with the limited slip I never had a problem pointing it in any direction I wanted. It's defenetly got history and the battle scars to prove it but its still got more to go so this should be a pretty exciting come back for it. I know Im excited to get back out there and do some wheeling.

That is pretty damned cool. Was that thing actually sitting on a trail somewhere up to the point of this thread coming into being?

And pardon the hood hijack. It just looked cool and I was wondering...

it was sitting on PA_JERO's mothers patch of land out in the middle of nowhere, still two more monteros to dig out of there! but those are different projects and johnny's monturbo is next in line anyways, then Lloyds Red Monty then we'll start thinking about the '88 2.5 TDI Montero that PA_JERO has sitting out there.

not to rain on you guys parade or anything. What you guys are doing is awesome! But at the same time, dont you think you'll want to concentrate on newer Monteros. As truck/cars get older, you'll see fewer of them, but as for Gen II's and III's, more will eventually have them and you might want to take advantage of that. Of course, if you can do both, that would be even better.

Just pointing it out if you guys havent already thought of it Keep up the good work. Hope the Raider crowd doesnt vote me away!
