Well, being an '88 driver myself, I can say they are becoming more and more of a rare sight these days. When I see an SWB driving around, it really stands out. I like that. Any time I go wheeling with a bunch of folks from the local wheeling board (around here, that means lots of Jeeps, Fords, Chevys, and Toyotas), my vehicle is typically one of the rigs that gets most crowded around and checked out, as many people have just never seen one built up and wheeled. Yes, that also means that parts are going to be getting more scarce, but creativity and resourcefulness can easily overcome that.

Awwww, I didn't know that!?! The last time I saw that rig, it was covered in fire extinguisher powder. Had to run into Durango the next day to get a starter. I'm sure you guys will make it proud. What's Lloyd wheeling? Is his Xterra built up?

Hope the Raider crowd doesnt vote me away! x2... There's always California for Raiders. I see one every now and then on CL for sale. I picked up one last year, parted it out. This year I bought a 91 4-door for the same purpose. I might buy the 89 Raider I looked at last month, but other $$ must come in first...then there'd be another Raider for parts...

Well angelo not to sound like i'm striking out at you but i really don't like gen 2's unless its a J-top, I just won't ever own a lwb montero unless its a gen 3 which i am buying this year something about them i just really like, and gen 1's swb's just have god like powers. Now you may not want to say the same thing to a Early bronco or scout owner cause you may just loose some teeth.
BACk on topic well i forgot wiring charts at home other day but i did get the new uncrushed gas tank installed, maybe sunday i'll get the motor wired up. Pa_jero I need you to bring the MPI relay(its green)

Dont run across too many Bronco, must less, any Scouts. To each their own. You might not like the Gen II's, but alot of people do, even a Gen III. Dont get my wrong, a Gen III is nice, but not off road nice. But it would still be in best interest to offer something for those newer Gen's cause the Raider, will one day, become harder to get if most havent already found that out. I like Raiders cause their are great offroad and built up right look freakin sweet. I was just saying that what you guys are doing is awesome, but in years to come, Gen II's and III's will be the thing of the future. Ok, I'll shut up now. But with all that aside, i think the work and ideas yall have are great. I'm glad someone out there cares to go the extra step and go further! Best of luck!

in years to come, Gen II's and III's will be the thing of the future. Of course 14 year old rigs are the wave of the future compared to 20+ year old rigs My Montero is going into the garage to start its restore after I sort some things out about other gen1s in my driveway. Maybe then I can make a Gen1 the wave of the future again.

It's ok i'm really not that into gen 1's. i like them but gen twos and threes are more my thing. I personally think every year monteros changed for the better and has evolved into one of the best 4x4's ever even though the gen 3 and 4 are Independent all around which isn't that great for serious rock crawling they still are more capable than the previous models in stock form. I would prefer a SWB Gen 2 and i know LT would take a hard top SWB gen2 in a heartbeat especially if it had the round headlights. My personal weapon of choice and in my opinion best montero for the job is the Gen2 blister fender SWB I'm not sure they made a j-top in this body style but if they do i'm all over it ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/toasty/2008-04-25/1209194954_orpajero2.jpg)
