well i got the new mounts welded in and it was a pain in the because the hardwire wouldn't weld over the flux core we tacked it on with and fires kept starting in the engine crossmember due to old oil that had leaked into it from the 2.6 that was originally in it, and the smoke from the fires caused perocity but i got it all welded solid it just doesn't look as nice as i wanted it to. next i'll be making something for his rockerpanels, i'm not sure what though. i'll post some pictures of the progress this week sometime.

-also i finally got started on my skidplate brackets on my '99, i made the new skids over a year ago back when my undercarriage was in good shape still it's kinda hammered now i'll post pics of that when i'm done in the az crawler post and once my heim joint comes in the mail i'll post up that long travel setup i've been talking about forever, i would be done already but i got a defective heim without the teflon insert.

That would be pretty rockin. I think this sunday I will be going over to slam out a bunch of work on the truck, like maybe putting the front suspension back together the rest of the way. Adam you should look over the truck on friday or saturday to see what I might have to go and pick up from my moms house, and maybe we could start tearing it up as early as possible

Guys, I have a near-perfect 2.6 gas tank if you need one. It's in the front yard.

I also have a nice spare wheel, 8" or 10", can't remember.

Did more wiring today, its just about done just need to pickup a couple things so i can have the stock cabin and lights harness powered by the 2.4 harness, once pa_jero gets the fuel pump i'll patch that into the harness aswell.

Old colt do you think i should just have the fuel pump(aftermarket) run off just ignition power thru a relay or should i wire it to the 2.4 harness engine control relay like it was in the pickup?

Also today i noticed on the diagram that on the wiring for the ECU if the truck was equipped with an A/T the black yellow wire(can't remember which pin) would get Positive and if M/T would get negitive since pa_jero's truck is auto i gave it power but the engine and harness did come out of a m/t I cut and powered it right at the plug for the ecu. I was thinking about giving it neither since its not in a max anymore but i think this maybe something we won't know till the engine is turning it makes me wonder why it wants to know if its auto or manual these pickups didn't have ECU's for the tranny right, if so i'll just give it ground so it thinks its a manual and doesn't look for some sort of pulse.

I always power the pump from the control relay. Just a safety issue.

I have not been able to verify just what that B-Y wire truly does but it is on all of this generation ECU. I think the ECU provides a different ignition timing when cranking with an automatic. So I do wire it for each application which would be to ground for a manual trans.
Many of the automatics will provide a signal to retard the timing when they are going to upshift. This is a different circuit than the single B-Y wire from the starter.
The Monteros automatic does not communicate to the engine at all. You will just need to get a compatible cable for the throttle pressure.

Cheers, Charlie
