Recently happened to me. I was accustomed to Alternator failure = lamp on 100%. On my Paj lamp was off at all times including the dash light check stage at the key "on" position, turned out to be a 3 day head scratcher.. But with dual batteries she sure did tick along for a while till the lights and (internal)fan died...
