That is a long commute this week, I take it you are in the Benz now?
How many other yards are you going to work at till yours opens?

Cheers, Charlie

Yes, I'm driving the 560SL for now..... left it in Atlanta and flew here..... return Friday.

I was planning to go to Memphis, but things are progressing rapidly in Columbia...... grading and drainage are complete, main building slab should be poured this week, steel is on the ground for the building. I'll probably start buying cars around June 15th and open August 15th, so I need to spend some time in Columbia to start hiring/training some people and digging up some car haulers.

Meanwhile, this week I'm helping the NO folks get ready for their opening..... training folks to lay out the yard and set cars..... I usually take the easy job of operating the loader and let others enjoy the hot sun. No water or electric here yet.... makes it a little tough to make any inside progress.

I have been having some fun, though.... designed and built a 3000 psi hydraulic converter shear that only runs the pump motor when the controller's momentary ram valve switch is pushed.... cost less than half of what the market available units cost, works better, uses less power to work and provides a considerable savings on electricity on an annual basis...... at least I feel useful. It's the first job I've had where I don't wear a suit and the first one that I get to use my engineering education and combine it with cars and business..... it's pretty unique to me and more fun than work.

Glad to hear it's going your way Frank

Lisa and I are looking forward to coming back to visit when the yard is up and running.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...
