Ok heres the scoop guys n gals...i have an 87 truck with the 22r, the motor has been to hell and back and wont last much longer if i were to guess. The #2 rod journal on the crank is toast and is knocking, and the #2 exhaust lobe on the cam is now completely round <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> compression is good. Could the excessive wear on the crank and cam be connected in anyway???

I also have a 82 22r layin around with a good crank and cam.

I know there are differences between the 87 and 82 22r's so can i swap the crank and cam and throw new bearings into the 87 or would it be better to rebuild the 82 (even though i dont have the intake/ exhaust mans. and everything else) and drop it in the truck. This truck is my beater so my goal is to get it running decent within the near future.
Thanks.
