Chad nailed it -- replace the piece, you've only damaged external parts. I had a similar problem (kept kinking oil filter cans) and ran a shorter filter can for a while, after comparing a bunch of 'em for threads and size (sorry, I don't remember the specs). I ended up cutting and tapping the aluminum bolt-on fixture for the pump and running an external oil filter... that worked grand until the cheap-o hoses that came with the kit crapped out and drained all my oil on the freeway. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> If you use good hoses, this is the route I recommend.
