Need a Spot

How would I go about adjusting the clutch cable on my '87? It shifts fine and the clutch works good. However, it makes a really annoying squeeling sound when the clutch pedal is fully released. If you barely push the clutch in, say maybe a 16th of an inch or so, the squeeling stops and all is good. How would I adjust this? Or do I adjust the clutch pedal? Its not going to take much. Thanks.
