How can a radiator be DOA?

Maybe it leaks? [Linked Image]

Long story short:
Bought a Flexalite Aluminum Radiator from PerformanceParts.com it was DOA, shipped it back several months ago, they never reply to voice mail messages or emails, im due about $500 for a refund...what is my best option?

>>>*One thing to remember about emails is they do often wander off somewhere they aren't supposed to. Add in servers that attach "points" for certain characters like dollar sign symbols and certain words, then the email can just get dumped as spam.

Best to use a telephone if possible, the item could be sitting there and the company may have no idea what to do with it. I have one sitting on my desk right now with no return address, no note, nothing. Some lash adjusters, we supply around 10 sets every week and if someone orders the wrong part, we are happy to refund. We just need to know who to and how much?

If that doesn't work then US mail and make them sign for it.

It's too late to initiate a chargeback most likely unless it was a paypal payment or something like that, even that company has limits.

Now if all else fails, there is one dirty trick. I had a company do similar to me years ago, some racing tires from Radke's. They had insisted I pay in advance, then they shipped Greyhound COD. So I had to pay twice, or no race.

No response to anything. I even got hung up on and had signature mail returned unaccepted.

So I waited 3 months, sent them a fancy looking box via Greyhound COD urgent. Put my Dad's ranch name, "OCS Ranch" on the return label so they wouldn't know it was me.

Heehee. Filled with some of the best Alder firewood money can buy, except a bit conky, bugs were included.

Got my $130 back, too. *Never heard a peep out of them.......Good luck!....*EB

Perhaps I'm a little slow right after work, but I fail to understand how sending firewood got your money back.

Body Damage is Cool
just got another email from them, they are far and few between, they said end of week it will be refunded,

to answer the DOA questions, it leaked from the start, it looked like a pretty solid radiator, but now im using a stock replacement.

>>>*I sent the nice package COD URGENT. They had to pay for it to receive it, cash only.

The outfit was Radke's Speed Shop in Portland, they had lots of cash around back then. Yep, Greyhound collected and then paid me, less the COD fee.

*Curiousity killed the Cat, you see....I figured they would pay for the parcel and they did.

That was nearly 40 years ago, 1969 to be exact. *Old scam, probably won't work nowadays......*EB

>>>*The part I bought was a set of A-250 compound M&H racemaster dragster tires.

But they shipped me one A-148 compound that had been run and one A-250 that hadn't been. Then they got snotty and refused to refund, especially since one had "Been installed and run." That degenerated into "You are trying to cheat us" and then it became "Is this going to be a hassle, man?"

Finally I got hung up on and even mail returned.

The company was run by a woman at the time.

I wrote "ATTN" and her name on it in big letters, plus I put racing stickers on it too. Even insured it, that cost me about $6 for $900 insurance if I remember right.

It really was a nice big pretty looking box, wood framed and kinda heavy. Yep, lots of money, more than a week's pay for me at the time.

*Mean of me, huh? I am so ashamed....*LOL**... ........*EB
