I mean usually, there was a committee in charge of organizing and planning events, etc. etc.

Even last year, we had the Archview as the 'official' campground and meeting spot, and it seemed like people generally knew what trails were being run and when/where to meet.

So far this year, I have not heard much other than the third weekend in May (which is just a few days away ) There's no official campground, and folks are scattered across the area for camping, hotels, etc. (we'll be down south in a townhome, I believe, if we can find one after waiting until the last minute...).

Does anyone have a plan for meeting on trail days? City Market already with have Jeeps Unlimited meeting there, McDonalds might not be large enough for everyone, but I am not sure where else to meet.

We plan on arriving on Wednesday afternoon. Dan will be there sooner in his Ranger, since college is only 100 miles away... If worse comes to worse, I'll have three rigs on the trail, a black amigo, red samurai (Dan will be driving - lifted on 31s) and a nice bright mulberry colored cherokee (piloted by Amanda).

I hope we can run some fun trails with other 'Zu folks!

Someone start some planning please!

I know there was some talk of meeting at the Portal pavilion in the evenings to network and plan the next day's runs...haven't heard anything else.

Suggestion: being that everyone is going in hundred different directions in the evenings and generally are trying to spend time with those that might not have participated in the trail runs why not have the "what trail we are going to run meeting" in the mornings, the extra advantage to that is if everyone is at the meeting nobody should be late for departure as well as you will get a true count of who is going and probably be able to make a better decision as to whether or not multiple trail selections are needed. Just a thought

I'd be up for Moab Rim, never done that one and it is definitely on my to-do list this year. Probably up for Kane Creek too, haven't done that one since 2001.

Did Spike and MM last year, not sure if I want to do them this year.

I think Amanda and I will stick with easier trails. The sami is set up for slightly harder stuff, so Dan may tag along with others on some trails...

I agree with Jeff on this one. I think the AM meeting is easiest, so people can do what they want at night with some that may not be on the trails.

Being that there doesn't seem to be a plan what so ever, let's just suppose for a moment that someone is attending this event for the very first time.........say with four rigs in their family and knows nobody other than myself, who by the way will not be on a ZuZoo trailride until Friday. Who would be the P.O.C. for these new folks or where would they meet and when for a Thursday run?

I've an idea-

Maybe we could meet for social reasons in the evenings at portal.

then on each morning, we could have three meeting places... one for easy or beginner, one for medium or advanced, and one for hard or expert.

That way depending on what type of trail you wanted to do you could show up at the appropriate location. Say a given time for each, probably a little earlier for the expert guys. I'm thinking that the medium group would need the largest area, so that should probably be portal. McD's for the experts, and somewhere like city market for the easy group.

This way even if you were not included in the discussion on trail selection you'll still have an idea where to go.

Just my 2 cents.
