Hi everyone. The windows in my 87 pickup are getting pretty hard to roll up and down. Anyone have experience fixing this problem? what's the fix?

thanks for sharing...

Same problem on my 88. Be glad to get some experienced advice before I just start throwing away the doors.

for me, mud gets inside and gets the track all dirty. Pop the inside panel of the door off and clean the tracks out.

Yep clean out the tracks and other moving parts plus give the rubber gaskets a shot of silicone spray lube to keep the glass sliding easily through them.

So the trick I read about where you just occasionally roll the truck over while climbing to knock out all the dirt is false? I assumed this would clean out the door tracks as well.

No, unfortunatly that bends everything so that the window won't roll up further than this:

lol, the flop was fun. But the after effects are a PITA. Honestly, I was REALLY REALLY lucky I didn't get more damage.

Also make sure the weather strips at the base of the window are clean and secured... mine were a little worn and would try to flip everytime i rolled up teh window
