Man...I just took mine to the recycler last week. Had them and my fronts on Craigslist fordamnnearever and had to unload beaucoup junk fast when I moved.

I do know a guy who can possibly get me some used... They do have ones from a 2wd T now, not a 4wd <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ..

Called/went to yards, not a single one had them in stock or any t100 for that matter and all wanted me to put a refundable deposit even if came bent. That was 4 yards I called and 2 I actually went to.. I spose i could call again and see where I get..

I honestly feel better replacing both sides just b/c, just as a piece of mind, since one bent you never know how weak the other side maybe in the end. Really dont wanna have to do it all over again and i certainly cannot change these myself, to much involved work I dont feel comfortable doing, nor the time. I just PRAY TO GOD that this is definitely it, cause if it aint I swear thats it with this truck.

So lets see:
-I decided I am just gonna buy new rims if I can find them for a deal. Right now I am watching a set of 5 spoke 16x7 on ebay off a 4runner for cheaper than buying aftermarkets are. No big deal if I run the one messed up rim for now tho.. Other option is to see if I can have it fixed. Still, dunno if its tweaked or just outta balance. If I win the ebay ones I can always sell. But I wanted to upgrade to 16" rims and different tires..

-I need tires, there the same ones the PO had on there since 04 and they are dryrotted a bit.

-I need the leaf springs rearched, and thats 400 bones.. I tried to load my atv the other day, the springs sagged badly and it only weighs 250lbs if that.

-Oh and I hope the moaning/groaning noise out of the drivers side rear brakes can be fixed, thats always fun.

YAY! Well the truck didnt cost me to much cash, nooo not at all. I can see what I am gonna be working for this summer, looks like ill be working 15 hour days again....Sometimes its just the way it goes, bad things happen and I havent put much else into the truck otherwise besides some frontend parts I bent. If anyone is selling some axle shafts I would really like them..

I REALLY appreciate everyones help over these past months. Its not like I dunno wtf im talking aobut, i like picking peoples brains and I am anal. Plus in this case, i eliminated all the CHEAP stuff first, hoping it wouldnt be this.

ANYONE KNOW WHY THESE STUPID SHAFTS BEND/TWEAK? My mech asked if i hit anything or such and i didnt, are they just weak metal and due to stress and time wear down?

My first winter in NJ, I spun-out and slammed my passenger rear tire on the curb (nice granite block style) and totally bent my wheel. That was in a subaru. If that happened with your T then maybe that's the cause?

I havent slammed into anything with that wheel AFAIK..but one never truly knows, coulda been a bad pothole for all I know.

The 2wd shafts should be the same. They are both 6-lug, 30 spline.

Don't bother to replace both if you don't need to. CHECK them first. It could save you unnecessary time/money spent.

Well my only worry is I maybe back in the same boat again if I only replace one side and the other side gives me issues. To check it we need to pull it all apart anyways.

I have a friend I forgot got a job for a Toyota dealer, so seeing if he can get me the parts.

Eleet, am I to understand I not only need the shafts but the bearing cases as well?

IF you change axle types you need the bearing case that goes with it.

FOUR part numbers will come up in the dealer's EPC when he looks up the axle for your T100. These are, axle, bearing case, oil seal and bearing.

In case you still want to consider used parts:

The NEW axle is found in 03/98 to END T100. Also 02/99 to 08/02 Tundra with model UCK30 UCK40 VCK30 VCK40.

The bearing case for the NEW axle on the T100 is found on 09/00 to 09/04 TACOMA with model RZN140 RZN150 VZN150. But, you probably can't get just this at a junkyard. One from a bent axle will be fine tho!

I agree with Erik 100% about not replacing an axle that is not bent. The FSM provides a runout spec for the shaft. This is easy to check with the right equipment. Even though I dont know why bent axles seem to be so common, this is 1" thick steel shaft. It isnt going to bend without a good reason.

Well imho I just feel better knowing I will never encounter another issue with either side if i replace both sides. Lets see if my buddy at toyota can come through I should get the stuff for next to nothing, if not ill just replace the one side.

Saving up the cash to buy the stinking shafts and bearing casing.

If the price is decent since I got a friend that works for Toyota I will just do both sides and be done with it. If not then just the one. I got stuck with alot of other debts I needed to pay off before this.
