I recall (the last time I started and ran mine <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />) when started cold that mine idled pretty high also until it warmed up but once I dropped it into gear (Automatic) it didn't stay at that high but dropped down significantly (probably 30-40% IIRC).

If it put it right back to park/neutral it would kick back up though.

IIRC it always behaved this way.

Both of you are correct. Mine idles high when cold until it reaches operating temp. Mine also does the same as Ray's when I put it in gear and go back to park. What he's saying is that it runs like doo-doo until it's at op temp. Mine doesn't do that. Mine runs fine if I hop in and go. Makes no difference if it's cold or hot. His, apparently, does not run fine when it's cold, but it does when it's hot.
