I like a hammock bivy setup, myself, being too old and too unpadded to like the ground, even with a thermarest or air mattress. Of course, this is not a two person proposition, so you have to separate the fun and sleep functions, somehow. A shorty might (will) work for the first function, but by no means easily.

I really want one of those jeep trailer popups...
