I want to start by saying I know this has been asked too many times on here, but...

I have a 95 T100 and was wondering if a 16x8 inch rim and LT305/70R16/D tires will fit on my truck with a 2 inch bodylift without any kind of rubbing?

2WD or 4WD?

What's the offset of the rims? Backspacing?

Sorry,
4WD
Rims have a 4.5" backspacing and 0mm offset. Also do I get hub centric or not?

They are going to rub a bunch. I have 255/85R16s on 16x7s with 4.25" backspacing and they rub my gap guards. Even with 3.75" of backspacing, most people rub using 33x12.5x15s and thatÆs not a 1/2" wider than yours. If you had four inches of lift and pounded your seams flat inside the fenderwell. you'd still likely rub. It not so much going higher as it is moving things out further. Even the stock rims were 4 & 3/8" backspaced. Brew

So what's a good size to go with on those rims and a 2" bodylift? Basically I want it to look good without rubbing.

It just depends on how much rubbing you feel like putting up with. Also, rubbing the inside (frame, sway bar, idler arm) isn't as bad or noticable as rubbing the outside (body).

Personally, I think you'd be fine with that setup and rubbing would be pretty minor. Thats about a 33x12.00 and with a 16x8 w/ 4.5" BS the rim is about centered, which moves the tire out more than a 16x7 with the same backspacing would (Brew's), but less than a 8" wheel with less BS (like me).

I ran 33x12.50 on 15x8 3.5 BS and had some minor rubbing on the outside (body). Hammering the firewall seam would probably have eliminated that.

Currently I'm running 35x12.5 on the same wheels with about 3" of lift, firewall seam has been pounded. I do get some rubbing still on hard bumps when turned, but it doesn't happen enough to really bug me. There are also some rub marks on my TC idler arm, but its not something I've ever noticed while driving and must only happen at full turn.

I have 235/85R16s

I think Brew meant 285's...

Doh, yes I meant to say 255/85R16s. Sorry I posted this while on a phone conference. Erik is much more the expert here as I got most of my tips from him in the first place. Brew

Thank you for the information. I think I'll be going with that setup and deal with the little bit of rubbing. I'll let you guys know how I make out. It won't be until July when I get back from Italy.

While were on the subject, iirc you can fit a 33x10.5x15 on stock backspaced rims. But will a 285/75RR16 fit with stock 16x7" rims? According to firestone (its a firestone AT) it needs a 7.5" rim and its 32.8x11.3" Pretty close to 33x10.5.. The rim is only 7" but im sure it will fit with a squeeze.

Here's an image of the five tires I'll be posting later today in the "For Sale" section. The spare never hit the ground until replaced with my Dunlop Rover RVXTs and even then it was only rolled into my Mini-Barn.

If you're anywhere near Indianapolis or Noblesville and want to try out a set of 255/85R16s (33x10.1x16) before plunking down a lot of cash for a brand new set. I'll make you an awesome deal. Buy the spare for $120 and get the other (4) 1/2 worn tires for free. The best pricing I can find is $137 a piece so this should be a deal. I had Discount Tire gauge the tread depth and after 20K the (4) worn tires still averaged 9/32s. If you can find a lower price I'll negotiate. I will not be shipping these but would drive up to 50 miles for a fellow forum member. I just can't bring myself to have these recycled.
