Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
From what I've read auto hubs don't work well with welded or locked gears. From my asumption (which is probly wrong) wouldn't the auto hubs let the front wheels free spin when turning. Thanks for your help

Negative. Once they lock, they're locked until you roll backwards ~5m.
EDIT: Get some manual locking ones (ie Superwinchs or Aisins) and lock the passy one on the trail. Leave the drivers unlocked till you need it.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

The auto hubs work fine for some folks. I've shipped many free pair around different places. I've replaced mine with Aisins and my wife's with Superwinch.
I have two more sets of auto FREE hubs, just pay shipping.

From what I've read auto hubs don't work well You needn't go any further than this statement. Has anyone had trouble with the GenII? Er, wait, those aren't really autohubs, right? Anyway, I've never had any problems at all with either of our GenIIs...yet.

On the Gen II's I saw today, the drive flanges on the front looked pretty beefy. I figure that the drive flanges and an ARB would be great for a dedicated trail rig. I like my manula hubs for the street, though.
