Hi, I have a question for diesel savvy people. Is it possible to convert my 87 Raider to Diesel using a Isuzu C223-T. Of course I mean with not much hastle and fabrication.

Anything is possible with $$ and time. It will be a lot of work - motor mounts, driveshafts, clearancing for the trans & t-case, making sure the shifters come through in a handy spot, radiator & intercooler, etc.

Will you gain more drivability? Seeking better fuel economy in these times of expense?

I am seeking better gas mileage. I might have access to a rusty diesel Isuzu Trooper so I was just wondering if the conversion might be possible. If it requires quite a lot of work it might not be worth the hastle and money. I live close to the Mexico border and fill up my VW Passat TDI with $30. Diesel sells at $2.06 a gallon, so you get the idea <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

you would be better off to find a mitsu diesel, as a doner vehicle. Still will be some work but no near as much as the transplant fro the Isuzu
