Hmmm, those are fairly unique problems...not sure I can help with most of it, but the engine ticking usually is either hydraulic lifter noise (if you have the SOHC engine) and/or timing belt tensioner (either SOHC or DOHC).

Lifter tick is annoying but not a real problem, Isuzu recommended using 0W-30 Mobil One to try and clean the lifters out.

If the tick goes away above about 2000 rpm it is likely the tensioner. This is about a $65 part, can be replaced in a few hours of work. I did mine in a campground in Moab.
