Well after 20 years of service my wife lost her job the other day.she was called to the office and was told that they will no longer have an art program due to cutbacks(BS )we think that it is more along the lines of the director bringing in his own people or having one of the other teachers teach it. at the end of the discussion he told he i have a box in my office,go upstairs and pack your belongings and don't come back tomorrow. to which my wif replied after 20 years all i get is a ******* box. They sent the school psycologist with her and while my wife was packing she asked if she wanted to talk about it. my wife replied what the hell is there to talk about i have more senority than anyone here and i got shafted.

Later when my wife got home next thing we know her mom shows up.the school psych called her and told her she thinks that my wife will commit suicide.Granted my wife was upset, but nowhere that upset.more along the lines of i will cuss them holes up one side and down the other.Sitting there watching and listening to the wife vent,i thought to myself damn good thing i done the honey-do list then some.I did not want to be in the line of the anger and hate she was letting out.

Out of all this the worse part is the 55k a year we will be lacking.anyone that lives in the tri state area(NY,NJ,CT) knows how much that is in our area.concedering everything it will make the differance between being homeless or not. I really hope she can find something before sept. If not what we have saved will last through nov. then the real battle begins, the battle to keep afloat.

Well I overheard my wife talking to a friend of hers . she was saying she was concedering moving to another state.I am hoping in dead sileance she will and it will be to VA. I have been after her to do that for years. Now that this happened i may be able to convince her,but first i will see what the apps that she filled out will bring .

Thanks BJ unless i can get her to move to texas(a big doubt in that) I can't think of anything either except the support and wisdom you have and always will supply

Sorry to hear about the bad news. Wish you and your family the best of luck. Sucks to hear about this...my wife just graduated to become a teacher....teachers just don't get the respect they deserve....they basically build this country, teaching the little ones even when the parents don't.

And yeah, after living in Jersey for a while, I don't think you would want to bear the heat of Texas.

yea the window that wa opened was me getting a second job. well for now anyway. we were both very paniky until her parents came over and talked to her this morning. then i remained in a panic and got home made several calls home to arrange for housing and such in case we do have to leave. When the wife heard what i was doing she managed to get me to calm down and explain that it isn't as dire as we both thought.Between her getting paid through august, unemployment for up to a year, anda few other odds and ends we will be ok for awhile.plus the In-Laws are going to help us as needed if needed.her brother and sister in -law are going to help her with her applications and such. and she will also check into getting a license to teach in VA just in case. Now that the stress has been greatly lifted I am not as worried even though moving back home wasn't a bad idea lol.

She sent some applications to schools at the shore which will be kinda better. anytime i can go saltwater fishing in less than a few minutes is good to me.she did state that we would move to the shore if she got any of those jobs.

I'd be a pretty hot fire-breather too.

Keep yer cool Cuervo. Make sure your wife rolls over whatever retirement plan she's got, so they don't mess with it.

While she's tossin' out applications, start garage saling. Time to prune the tree and move on.

And as mentioned, where one door closes, another opens. My roomie has gone thru this same situation before.

Yah- fishin' within an hour ain't a bad thing. Lots of VA folks here from the Wire too.

Unfortunatly she has no retirement plan since it is a private school.hopefully she will get a job in a public school, beleave it or not NJ is ranked no 4 in the country.that counts pay beni's and so on. Va is ranked 6th so either way we will be in good shape.

As far as yard sale,i have stuff up on craigslist already, and getting ready to go through my computer stuff and clear my hard drives and sell that stuff as well.Which reminds me I have a couple jeep wheels and tires up for sale. I will post that up on items for sale soon in here
I also have a few other tires as well i will put up.I will also list the computer items i have already listed, and will post the rest later when i have time to clear the HD'S and see what i have.

KK here is the update, she got a card thanking her for an the application and they will review it along with her resume. Then today she got a call for an interview. the first one is in Bayview NJ, right on the shore. the second is near jersey city, thank god we won't have to move there. i hate that part of jersey and there would be a divorce if we needed to move there . thankfully though we won't have to move there.
