Winter has for the most part come and gone, and so I took the truck out and got it on the road today. Of course it snowed today, wouldn't expect any less <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> .
I was nervous about removing the thermostat housing, as I figured the housing bolts would break off, but they all spun out with no problem. Made a new gasket, used a bit of sealant, and all is good. No more coolant leaks.
I kind of forgot just how slow the diesel is, especially compared to the gasser. Still, the fuel mileage, and sound, is worth it. The gasser had an ignition issue that was making it so slow, and after repairing that it became better, though still limited.
The truck had came with clear taillights and LED bulbs, but were very dim, because the LED's were facing the wrong way. Angled LED's are available somewhere, so I angled mine with a mini cut-off wheel and some super glue. Taillights are much better. I had actually removed them for over a year and put regular taillights on so I wouldn't get rear-ended due to poor lighting.
Muffler is starting to go, so that is something else to repair. It doesn't even sound nice, just sounds like a truck with a bad muffler.
I tested the injectors, and they have a crappy spray pattern. I have a spare set, so I think I will rebuild them and install them some time in the future. A proper spray pattern isn't going to make it worse, that is for sure.
Cheers for now.
