Well, it's been a little bit, and this forum is quiet anyway.
I started making a oil reservoir for the power steering, as the one I cobbled together was having problems with the supply line from the tank to the pump. The line would kink, mainly because it has to do a tight S, something it doesn't want to do. The new tank will have a spigot facing in a more suitable angle. It won't hold a lot of oil, but I actually hooked up the cooler for the power steering, so there is more fluid in that. The old truck has worked for 6 years now without a cooler, so with one and a small tank should be fine. If not, I'll make something else. These are good little "break time" projects for me to do at work, during our 2) 15 minute breaks every day (I can't just sit during the breaks or I get lazy, so I do little fixes, etc.)
Right now it's -19C outside, and they are calling for winds tomorrow, so it's got a windchill of -38C. Excellent breaktime projects, especially since my garage isn't heated. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
I have to figure out where the coolant leak is also, another more required repair for the S10. Not a major leak, but after a long highway drive, it is puddled on the intake manifold. I think it may be the thermostat housing gasket, but that will have to wait for at least above freezing to tackle that one.
I can get the Toyota motor, with the 5 speed and transfer case, for $200. I have no need for it now, however, you never know.....
