Hard to believe but I am getting 37+ out of this:
[Linked Image]
Has aluminum intake tube, K&N cone filter, header, 2.25 exhaust, cheap fleabay fart can, deleted EGR, and the PO had a lumpy cam put in it. Just got it running Monday and was really shocked. Put 42 dollars worth of gas and have driven 90 miles so far and haven't hit 3/4 of a tank yet. I was expecting around 20.

Kane

How do you figure you are getting 37? have you filled up and divided the miles driven by the gallons used? you cant go off the tank gauges, they aren't super accurate...

Anyone else getting weird looks from people when you decide to take your rig out for a little drive? I was filling my Raider Sunday, and got a lot of angry looks from a fag in a Prius. I think he got even madder when I started it and drove off in a fog of valve seal smoke.

Nope, but if that were me they were scowling at, I'd scowl right back. If they asked why I was scowling, I'd say "Shame on you for buying a new car. Do you know how much energy it takes to manufacture a new car? An older, used car has already been accounted for and should be recycled."

Then I'd tell 'em how my 15-year-old Metro is just such a car and gets better mileage than his new Prius.

The not-so-great deal about hybrid rigs is that they actually have quite an impact on the environment to mine and process the metals needed for their batteries.

Next hybrid scowler you see, remind them their big ol' battery started out in the ground too.

Some of it might be questionable and I'm not convinced that H2 is more friendly than Prius but I have little doubt than say Corolla is as well as having more economical sense.

I think my boss is going to buy a Smart Car for a company car soon. We were going over the numbers this Friday and at current gas prices the car will be free over a four year. Another words the car cost 13K but we can save 13K in gas compared to the current company car
