What's your current company car? A Top-Fuel dragster?

Just for you Jarhead.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

1.Current car

100,000 miles divide by 22MPG =4545 gallons x 5 gallon = $22,727

2. Smart Car

100,000 miles divide by 45 MPG = 2222 gallons x 4.5 gallon = 11,110

$22,727-$11,110 = $11,617 which is almost the price of the car <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

No problem, I was feeling guilty that the company car is an Audi A6 AWD <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" />

I wouldn't feel guilty about driving an A6 on the company's nickel. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

>>>*I always think in dollars per mile.

In 1983 we had about the same political situation about fuel prices, they were actually pretty close in real world dollars to today's prices.

We needed a car so we went looking, thinking of maybe a Ford Escort or a Toyota or Honda, something like that.

I was looking around and here sat a 1973 Oldsmobile 98, fender skirts, 410 H/P 455" engine, positrac with tow package. 61,000 miles on her and not a blemish I could find and I looked. The machine was huge, it weighed 5100 pounds.

I asked how much and they said $600 so I bought it. They were so happy because they were going to have to send it to the crusher, no one would dream of buying that since it got 13 MPG.

That was the cheapest car to drive I ever owned. The 10 grand or so I saved paid for a lot of fuel and I got to drive along safely and in comfort.

Maintenence? Oil and filters and tires and one battery, that was it......*Wish I had it back.....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

I just saw a Smart Car cruising down the interstate. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> Although the crash tests are impressive, I'm not ready to drive golf carts alongside tractor trailers yet. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

For cities though they are a great idea. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Do they come in pink? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I'll see what I can find out for you. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

BTW...I filled up the tank in the pink beer can yesterday after it dipped down below 1/4-tank and had been a few weeks since my last fill-up.

$24

The smart is a Tank...the evidence

It to the point that it's stronger than your body can take and it would be true of any car no matter what the size.
