When I was looking for speakers for the Silver Raider where ever I went said 3" for the dash. Found out when I bought my Red truck the guy had sure enough put new 3" speakers in the front, and 6x9's in new boxes in the back. One of them fell out wheeling at Uwharrie in April 07 going over a massive fallen tree (the muffler was also damaged). Its always fun having a 3" speaker fall on your foot as your front tires hit the ground. Just to see what kind of volume I am getting out of the front and I have faded the Clarion unit to the front only. And I have noticed with even 3 speakers vs 4 you do get a better all around sound having those front speakers. With just the 6x9's in the back you can tell all the sound is coming from behind your head. So the 3" speakers may not do much, but they still make a difference.
