I've run a search on dome light for 87 Raider or Montys and can't come up with anything. Has anyone upgrade their dome light to either a brighter lamp or a better fixture?

The dome light in my 88 has never worked since I bought it, so I upgraded to a couple of these and never looked back.

That's cool. I'm going to get one for the rear of the truck but I want one that comes on when I open the door.

Check into the Balkamp, Grote, or similar lines at an real auto parts store. Brighter, bigger lamps. I have a working lamp in my 91 LS parts car that could be mailed...

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I bought a round cargo light at the parts store and wired it into the door switch on my 88, works great and is very bright. My original dome light did not worked when I acquired the Monty.

I changed mine to LED's... 12 LED's I believe(I'll check when I get home). Super bright!

They plug into where the stock bulb would goes. The install was easy and quick... 2-3 mins! I bought them on Ebay.

Damn 12 LEDs! wow, that's like day light in there lol. I saw those type lights but didn't think I could get them to fit. I'd like to see how you did it. Any pics here or to my email would be appreciated.

I just got home and checked... I have 25 LEDs. A total of 50 LEDs if you count the front dome and rear door dome. I don't know if the SWB and LWB have the same size dome lights, but if they do... They will install with no problem!
