My buddy in CO has a '79 20R 4x4. He recently put a 32/36 Weber on it. Seems to run fine down the road, but has never had it out for very long runs. He started it the other day to run it for a while as it had been sitting, it ran for 15 minutes at an idle and it shut down. The fuel filter had drained down. He thought it might be airlocked, removed the fuel line, reconnected it, started it back up, placed a stick on the gas pedal and ran it about 1500 rpm and it ran an hour before shutting down again. Fuel pump tested to 3.5 lbs, filled a can with gas with it so volume seemed to be ok too. Pump has about 60,000 miles on it(Toyota pump). Is it possible the Weber is creating an airlock under those conditions? He is not using any smog equipment on the truck.
HELP!
