ive read of using SVO as well as BIO-DIESEL I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT THAT YOU COULD USE ATF AS A EXTRA LUBE BUT NOT AS A FUEL THAT WOULD BE AWESOME IF YOU COULD I USE A QUART OF ATF TO 20 GAL DIESEL SO THAT I HAVE PLENTY OF LUBE WHEN RUNNING NITROUS OR PROPANE I KNOW WHEN YOU RUN NITROUS AND PROPANE THE EXTRA FUEL THINS OUT THE LUBING ABLITIES OF DIESEL SO IM NOT SURE BUT I DONT THINK IT WILL WORK WHAT TYPE OF BTU RATTING DOES ATF HAVE COMPARED TO DIESEL AND AT WHAT TEMP DOES IT IGNITE YOU MAY HAVE A HARD TIME STARTING THE TRUCK WITH SVO YOU NEED TO WARM THE ENGINE UP ON DIESEL FIRST THEN SWITCH OVER SO YOU MAY NEED TO LOOK INTO SOMETHING LIKE THAT GOOD THOUGHT LET ME KNOW IF YOU TRY IT I HAVE A UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF THAT CRAP

Ive been reading about guys running ATF for awhile. The people doing it have nothing to complain about other than poor mileage, frequint filter changes, and problems in cold weather. A lot of people don't think it's possible or it will wreck the engine. The guys that I had read about are from Montana and are mechanics at dealerships (Dodge and Ford). They are running ATF in late model, computer controled deisels. They ran straight, filtered, used ATF with a quart of 2sroke outboard oil. One guy claims to have put 80,000 miles on his rig running it this way.
With my 4d55 being a fully mechanical diesel, the only thing Im worried about is wearing out injectors, or any rubber components, like seals and gaskets in the fuel system. Wor out seals in my hydrolic pump running ATF in my hyro steering. What else should I be worried about? I think this truck will be a pefect test vehicle for this. Its a stricktly off-road vehicle that might see 100 miles a year. I was interested in running SVO also. But there is alot to it. Heated tank, heated fuel filter, new injectors with different spray pattern and angle, multiple tanks. ATF could be cool.
